Podcasts you should listen to
You really should.
These are a few of the podcasts that i regularly listen to. I’m not a huge gamer, but i do enjoy the odd bit of Xbox 360 now and again. I am however very interested in the gaming industry. Maybe it’s because of the particulars of the industry (young people, cutting edge tech, always been connected and online) but i really like how they have embraced social media and the communities that surround their games. I feel that there is lots to learn from them, they have been doing, what most companies are just now starting to discuss, for years.
The Totally Rad Show (iTunes link)
Featuring Dan Trachtenberg, Jeff Cannata and Alex Albrecht (of diggnation fame). A weekly video podcast from the revision3 network.
CO-OP (iTunes link)
Discussions about video games and the gaming industry. CO-OP from Area5.tv is now a part of the revision3 network of podcasts.
Diggnation (iTunes link)
The video podcast that kicked off revision3. A semi-drunken-couch-discussion about the weekly top news stories from digg.com. Featuring Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht
4 Guys 1Up (iTunes link)
One of the podcasts from 1up.com (previously known as 1Up yours). Editor David Ellis and others invite gaming-industry big names for weekly discussions!
The Bungie Podcast (iTunes link)
A randomly released podcast from Bungie Studios. Lots of interviews and interesting discussions with the designers and developers of the Halo series moderated by Luke Smith
The Gamespy Debriefings (iTunes link)
The Gamespy editorial team discusses game news and other gaming related topics
The Giant Bombcast (iTunes link)
One of my favorite podcasts. Funny, insightful discussions and random rants + talk from the team behind giantbomb.com (a very good community driven website)
Rebel FM (iTunes link)
From the team behind eat-sleep-game.com with special guests. Rebel FM consists of a few ex. 1UP employees that when being made redundant started up the website and the podcast to keep in touch with the community.
SModcast (iTunes link)
Not gaming related, but a rude, foul, drug-referencing, funny and often very very random weekly podcast from the team behind Clerks and Dogma (and more…), Kevin Smith (writer, director) and Scott Mosier (producer). If you like Kevin Smith you should listen to SMod.
